Culinary Training

The Culinary Training Program is a flagship initiative of the Karzay Foundation, designed to empower individuals — especially women, youth, and underserved communities—through the art and ethics of plant-based cooking. Rooted in the philosophy of Karzay, plant based diet that doesn’t harm the environment’, the program nurtures a deep understanding of how food choices can honor compassion, promote health, and protect the environment.

Conducted across Bhutan, our hands-on training blends traditional Bhutanese culinary wisdom with modern vegetarian and vegan cooking techniques. Participants not only learn to prepare wholesome, flavorful, and cruelty-free meals, but also gain knowledge in nutrition, sustainable food practices, and ethical food systems.

More than just a cooking course, Karzay Culinary Training is a movement—one that equips individuals with the skills, confidence, and inspiration to lead and share a more mindful way of living in their communities.

Whether you are looking to transform your diet, start a plant-based food venture, or simply cook with greater awareness, Karzay Culinary Training opens the door to a kinder, healthier future—for yourself and for the world.

Mindful Eating

At Duedroi Rawang Zhidhey Tshogpa, we believe that how we eat is just as important as what we eat. Our Mindful Eating Program encourages members to cultivate presence, gratitude, and compassion at every meal. Through guided practices and community sessions, we help individuals reconnect with their food understanding its origins, impact, and the values it represents.

This program nurtures a deeper awareness of our relationship with food, fostering habits that are not only healthier but also more aligned with kindness, sustainability, and inner well-being.

Vegetarian Day

Since our inception, the Foundation has marked World Vegetarian Day with celebrations that unite our members across Bhutan in a shared commitment to compassionate living. Each year, we organize awareness campaigns through media outreach, storytelling, and community engagement to highlight the ethical, environmental, and health benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle. These celebrations serve as a powerful reminder of the impact our food choices have on animals, the planet, and our own well-being reinforcing our mission to inspire mindful, sustainable living in every household.

Earth Day

Since 2025, the Karzay Foundation has been proudly organizing Earth Day celebrations in Bhutan. These events bring together students, scholars, and citizens for a day of reflection and action. The program features inspiring talks by experts on plant-based diets, environmental conservation, and the vital role of youth leadership in shaping a sustainable future. Through these gatherings, we reaffirm our commitment to compassionate living and empower the next generation to become stewards of the Earth.
This program nurtures a deeper awareness of our relationship with food, fostering habits that are not only healthier but also more aligned with kindness, sustainability, and inner well-being.

Visited Baza Guru Dungdrub Lhakhang

We had the privilege of visiting Punakha recently, an inspiring day of unity, compassion, and growth at Baza Guru Dungdrub Lhakhang, in response to a gracious invitation extended by His Eminence Truelku Kuenga Tenzin. During the event we donated a total of Nu. 47,850 to support the wonderful Bazaguru initiative. Our visit also included an enlightening plant-based lifestyle awareness session, where we shared the benefits of vegetarianism and compassionate living as a awareness to the audience. We are grateful to be joined by our dedicated staff, coordinators and members of Punakha.

Collaborate with Zhung Dratshang in offering lunch to 200 monks.

We are deeply honored to share that we have been given a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Zhung Dratshang in offering lunch to 200 monks, including both Thai and Bhutanese monks. May this humble act of offering bring countless blessings to all beings.
